What it does not tell you
Saves are the strongest signal a post was worth something to the person who saw it, because saving takes deliberate effort and returns nothing to the person doing it. A post with modest reach and heavy saves is usually more valuable than a wide post nobody kept: the first found the right people, the second found a lot of people. The most useful comparison is saves against reach rather than saves on their own, since a post shown to five times as many people will collect more saves without being five times better.
