Shares
A share is someone sending your post to another person or reposting it to their story.
What it does not tell you
Shares are the only interaction that directly puts your post in front of somebody who was not going to see it, which is why they matter more than likes for growth. They also tend to concentrate in one or two posts rather than spreading evenly, so a month's share count often comes almost entirely from a single piece. That piece is worth studying rather than the month's average.
