The most common mistake is asking for several things at once, which reliably produces none of them. The second most common is asking for something the platform makes hard: sending people to a link from a feed post costs far more attention than asking them to comment. A call to action that asks for a comment can also be the mechanism for a reply, since a comment can trigger a message back.

Worked example

'Comment PRICE and I will send you the link' is a call to action someone can do in one step.

Asking for three things at once. One clear ask in a post gets more done than a list.
