Whitelisting

Whitelisting is when a creator gives a brand permission to run ads from the creator's own handle.

What does whitelisting mean?

  1. Reading the question
  2. Writing it in plain words
Ask anything about your Instagram

The part worth reading

What it does not tell you.

The ad appears to come from the creator rather than the brand, which is why it usually outperforms the brand's own version of the same asset. It is a materially bigger ask than a post, because the brand controls the spend, the targeting and how long it runs, and the creator's handle carries whatever the campaign says for that whole period. It should be priced and time limited separately from any organic post in the same deal.

Worked example

A brand runs your post as an ad from your handle, so it appears with your name on it.

The usual mistake

Agreeing without a time limit. Say how long the brand may run ads through your account and price that period.

Now the harder question. What do yours say?

Ask Synclify in the same plain words and it reads your own account. Every dashboard and chart in it is free to use on every plan.

Cancel any time. Every dashboard and report is free to open.
