Reel
A reel is a short vertical video, the format Instagram distributes most widely to people who do not follow you.
What it does not tell you
Reels are the main way accounts reach beyond their existing followers, which also means reel reach is the least predictable number on the account: a single reel can reach more people than a month of everything else. That makes averages misleading for reels specifically. Compare a reel against your own typical reel rather than against your posts in general.
